Battle of the Atlantic

Watch as underwater archaeologists conduct maritime detective work. The Battle of the Atlantic was the closest scene of combat to the U.S. during World War II. A joint venture between NOAA, University of North Carolina Coastal Studies Institute and East Carolina University seeks to document the physical evidence of the final days for those aboard over 60 sunken merchant marine and navy warships with a range of technology.
